Seattle Slew died on May 7, 2002 at the age of 28. One of only 11 winners of horse racing’s prestigious ‘Triple Crown’ he is by default considered among the all time greats in thoroughbred racing. Of the eleven horses to win the Triple Crown, he is the only one to do so with an undefeated record. He was also notable due to his humble beginnings, and is the only Triple Crown winner to have been purchased at public auction. He retired to stud in’78 and sired over 100 stakes race winners including’84 Kentucky Derby champion, Swale. Slew’s offspring have earned a combined $76 million dollars at the race track. Slew wasn’t the most majestic looking creature by the lofty standards of race horses, but was possessed with the heart, toughness and courage of a professional prizefighter.

The new puppy was a handsome creature and displayed the finest traits to be found in a golden retriever at least in appearance. But trying to live with the poorly behaved animal was proving to be trying at best and miserable on the days that she would mind nothing that was said to her. Melinda got out the phone book and looked up dog training Philadelphia area and attempted to find a puppy obedience center nearby. She discovered one that was fairly close to where she lived and she picked up the phone and made an appointment before she changed her mind. She somehow knew that this was something that was not an option if she wanted to continue to keep this puppy and had any hope of making her into the kind of pet that other people would enjoy. She had previously utilized the services of a company that she found under the listing dog training NYC area when she lived in that part of the country and she knew she could trust this branch of the same obedience school even though it had a different owner. At the time she had owned a standard poodle who had a wild streak and she had given the school credit for making him much more easily managed. She could only hope that this one would work the same magic with her golden retriever and teach her some puppy etiquette as soon as possible.

Barking is the only way your dog has to express its emotions, be it fear, aggressiveness, or hunger. But when barking becomes too frequent or too loud, both owners and neighbors can begin to resent the dog. You may be familiar with this situation if you have a dog that just won’t stop barking, keeping everybody awake at night. Barking varies from dog to dog and from breed to breed, with some dogs naturally barking louder than others, but it’s always your responsibility to make sure that your dog doesn’t bother the people living with you or around you. You have the options of training your dog, having someone train it, or simply get a dog bark collar.
