There are many apparent reasons why come command should be included in your Labrador training. In reality it is one of the most vital basic commands each dog must learn so as to ensure safety. Once the come command or recall is mastered, probably deadly situation can be stopped by calling him to you. Apart from safety reasons, mastery of the come command also gives your lab bigger freedom in some scenarios. You can allow him to run freely when you’re out in the beach realizing that he will always respond each time you call.

I have a trivia for you – did you know that dinosaurs had arthritis? I can just imagine the aching joints of a ferocious t-rex after a long and tiring day of hunting. So if you think arthritis is a new disease reserved only for the humans, you are mistaken. Animals like our beloved dogs also succumb to arthritis.

The Swedish Elkhound is a very ancient breed believed to have existed in 1000s. There are speculations that this breed was developed from the dogs of the Stone Age people. Jamtland, a province in the northwestern part of Sweden is the place of origin of this breed. This breed of magnificent conformation has been kept by people in Jamtland at the end of the last ice age. As a consequence, the Swedish Elkhound is also known as Jamthund.

Summer tends to make me happy. I love taking a swim, enjoying baseball, and not putting on socks for four months. But if there is one point about summer that bugs me, it’s … definitely, bugs.
