The name brush is used to call any type of hand held tool that can be used for either cleaning or applying material on something. This tool generally has some type of filament or bristles attached for it to function. It is a very old and basic of tools that has been in use for time immemorial to do its job of cleaning various things like houses or animals.

The use of the brush can be found in almost any country through out the world. One of the most common features found in all brushes is the use of some sort natural fiber, be it animal hair or plant material. It is made into a practical tool by attaching it to the wood or piece of metal that has been specifically designed for the purpose.

The other uses for brushes include painting or upkeep of ones hair. Ultimately whatever the intended use is the brush will be designed for it. A good example is a brush that is used for cleaning teeth will be different from one that is intended for hair. But the same design can have variations such as paint brushes, one type will be used for houses and another one for painting art.

Brushes are most widely used for the cleaning of objects. As was written about before there are various types of cleaning brushes. Tooth brushes are intended to clean ones teeth and not for pet grooming. So it easy to see that all objects require cleaning and there is most likely a brush designed to do the job.

The lint brush is one such tool designed specifically for the cleaning of textiles or cloth. Whether it’s silk, wool or any other type of cloth this type of brush can get the job done. the most common design is the one where a sticky tape is attached to a roller and it is operated by rolling it back and forth.
