Stop Dog Digging – What To Do

It takes hours of hard work to maintain a pristine lawn, but seconds for a dog to destroy. How do you get a dog to stop digging holes in your yard?

Though you may think that your dog is doing the work on purpose, you dog really isn’t. You should always try not to physically harm your dog for doing wrong.

If you do physically harm your dog you will turn the matter into an even worse situation.

Good smells in the ground can be the reason why your dog wants to dig. If your dog doesn’t find the smell of the ground appealing, the dog wouldn’t want to dig. It would make sense if the dog smelled something he really didn’t like, he would stop.

Dogs are different. Notice what kind of smells your particular dog isn’t a fan of. For example some dogs don’t like mouthwash. If that’s the case with your dog, dabble a little mouthwash around the lawn.

A technique as simple as this may be enough to put an end to your problem completely.

If the dog repetitively digs in the same hole there are other ways to deter them. Substances that dogs dislike, such as their own feces, can become your best weapon. Adding it to the hole can be very effective.

It’s proven that dogs dislike the feeling of poop on their feet, just like most people, I would assume.
