Why DID the chicken cross the road?

I’ve given up on the definitions of my life, and can happily say I have resigned to taking whatever direction life leads me.  Each day presents new opportunities, whether it is meeting new faces at the dog park, canine and human, or catching a rooster.  They’re fast, those roosters, but with a little common sense and a little temptation in the form of food, they can be caught.

So why did the chicken cross the road?  In the case of this rooster he was the second rooster, and was not very accepting of the new hen and her chicks.  We moved him from to another pen, where he was promptly “put in his place” not just by the rooster but by a few hens.  It reminded me of high school, and was happy to have that phase in life far behind me.

Sometimes the chicken crosses the road for a new beginning.  On occasion we find that the place we’ve come from was not so bad.  Time will tell whether this rooster will fit with this new group of chicks.  Whatever the outcome there’s one thing for sure, the chick in the picture had a fun time taking this rooster for a ride.
